- free blog (Two posts in one day? Yes, because my music monday was RUINED by the YouTube sheriff.)

You know those cute little owls that bloggers have in their sidebars all the time that proudly proclaim "AD-FREE BLOG"?

I don't see anything wrong with a blogger having advertisements, as long as they're tastefully placed and not all up in my face, (whoa, that rhymes!) so I felt like using that banner would have been a little hypocritical...but I really like the owl guy, so I decided to make myself a little guy that pertained to my blog instead. Here are some of the prototypes:

I started having too much fun, and thought of all the other bloggers out there in the world who maybe have ads on their blog but like the little owl guy with the speech bubble, so I made a bunch more. You all can steal any of these and use them if you like, just right click on the image and save it to your own computer. The original image is actually quite large, so you can resize it to whatever fits your own format.

You're welcome. :)

And if you want me to make you a personalized one, send me an email, I'd be happy to oblige.

Music Monday: The Best Grammy Performance I've Ever Seen

Alright, well originally I had this whole video thing posted on how great the performance by the Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons and Bob Dylan was but youtube removed it because of copyright infringement, bla bla bla...whatEVER.

So for now I guess you can just listen to my favorite Mumford and Sons song. Because it's really really good.

Also, blogger isn't allowing me to delete the video so...it's still here.

Tumblr'n around

I can't get over the amount of pretty pretty and weird things I come across daily on Tumblr. It really is fantastic. Here are some of my faves. If you want to know the original source, join the club. Tumblr is just a thousand million people stealing from other people...if one of these is yours, please let me know. Because it's awesome, and I'll totally give you credit, take it down and/or feature you on my blog.

I may have said this before, but I feel like people's Tumblr accounts are like little glimpses into their psyche. It's a weird thing, I've inadvertently begun following a few people who are 14-16 years old and man they are cuh-ray-zee. Even on the internet. Or especially on the internet. And they constantly seem to be getting messages from anonymous people telling them they should kill themselves and they're fat and ugly and stupid and have no friends and in the same paragraph "Did I see you at the mall with so and so? He's so cute." So basically it's also a window back into the hell that is high-school. Goddamn teenagers are so weird and dramatic!

Do you have a Tumblr account? You should make one if you don't. And then tell me about it. I'd be curious to see what the inside of your brain looks like. :)

I won something. AND I'm giving something away!

Thank you SO MUCH Diana (from Our City Lights) for having a Lomography camera giveaway. And then thank you random dot org for choosing my name out of all the participants. You guys, I entered a giveaway and actually freakin' won it! I never win these things. (I actually found out I won two in the same week, I'll tell you guys about the other one when I get the thingy...it's in the process of being made right now.)

No matter how much I e-mail harassed her, (sorry!!)Diana never announced the winner officially, but since I got it in the mail yesterday I couldn't wait any longer to tell you guys about it.

I won...

I haven't dared put film in it yet...it's a little intimidating and strange, but boy is it neat. I'll try it soon and keep y'all updated.

AAAAND...I'm involved in a pretty sweet giveaway over at Pamplemousse this month. Among a ton of really cool things, you can win three postcards that I made with my own camera, sense of humor, and computer skills, haha. Here's what they look like:

They all feature very horrifying beautiful pictures of spiders that I found in my backyard, and they say "Spiders Are Gross". You should CLICK HERE to see the giveaway and enter it, you wiener!
